WESTSIDE!!

ice cube was at the fillmore last night. it was pretty rad - not the most amazing rap concert i've been to (snoop dogg at slims still reigns as the best night of my life and i think lyrics born at the great american music hall still comes in a distant second*) but definitely a good show.

what always kills me about going to a rap concert are all the times i've been told to be careful. friends, parents, co-workers... i've heard it from everyone. "you're going where? wow... be careful." and while i appreciate the sentiment - its like - be careful of what? getting roofied? getting stabbed? joining a gang? maybe i'm horribly naive and should be on the lookout for all of the above... but this is the fillmore - not some warehouse in hunters point (ahem, POCKET)... and underneath all the rhymes about bop guns - isn't he just a nice guy driving his girlfriend's kids to vancouver?

in anycase - the show was great fun. oh and i forgot how awesome Gangstas Make The World Go Round is. (jacquie - will you please put it on the shasta mix? thanks.) so here are some camera phone pics documenting the adventure.

most dangerous part of the show? waiting in line to buy tickets. we went a couple weeks ago to purchase them directly from the fillmore to avoid the ticketmaster fees. scalpers own scary dogs... who knew?

here's the crew walking from becca's house to the show

tha dogg pound opened. snoop didn't show though...

thats cube on the right. its hard to tell from here but his outfit inspired my halloween costume for this year. thats right - a muni driver.

final shot of the show. not a good picture but look at all the camera phones in the air - a dangerous crowd indeed.

*in the rap concert race - not the best night of my life race

Jen, it's gangsta's like YOU that make the world go 'round.

Glad to hear you are back in one piece.

Oh, and when attending future rap concerts, please purchase your tix online.

That ticket-buying situation looked like the scariest part of the adventure for sure....

Thank God I've finally been blessed with such a 'rad' blog...

How did I not know this existed before? In terms of entertainment..hhmm (that's me, clearing my throat), I'm pretty sure Ice Cube and Snoop Dog combined don't stand a chance.

I'm 'fully' intrigued...Jenn, you rule...see you sunday... :)
